Dr Can Eken

Dr Can Eken is a partner of the firm and a triple-qualified lawyer, admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales and as an Attorney-at-Law in California and in Türkiye. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), he advises on international commercial arbitration, investment disputes and cross-border matters across common law and civil law systems. His work is shaped by an ability to read a dispute not only as a legal file but as a commercial event, one of risk, pressure, timing and consequence.

Alongside practice, he is an Associate Professor in Commercial Law at Durham Law School and co-director of the Durham International Dispute Resolution Institute, where his research focuses on international arbitration, investment law and third-party funding.

He holds a PhD in law from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is regularly invited to speak at international conferences on arbitration and on legal matters in California and Türkiye.
